DINNER
In contrast to FIL, my father prefers dinner, on any day of the week, because he can drink more in the evening (just before going to bed).
Grill H is a Korean/Italian restaurant. Not fusion, but straight up Korean grill dishes, alongside Italian pastas and pizzas and salads. Elegantly simple presentations, reflecting the modern minimalistic decor. Still in business after an astounding 5 years (about 100 years in Gangnam time), it’s become one of the Cheongdam’s landmark establishments.

The food was good. Though generally scornful of eateries in the area, which tend to focus primarily on style, little if any on substance, everything was decently cooked, reasonably tasty, and immaculately plated. Unfortunately, my surf & turf was probably the worst of the bunch: the lobster obviously from frozen, the steak initially undercooked then overcooked – still, I can boast eating lobster two nights in a row. Everyone agreed that the Korean dishes were better by far over the Italian ones. Anyway, we enjoyed the meal overall
Happy birthday, Dad!
