Cantonese-Style Fresh Drunken Shrimp (2.0): despite all the fuss, they were a tad fishy, certainly not worth the effort; pain to peel.Sautéed Salted Pork with Spinach (2.0)Steamed Dace Ball with Vegetable (2.5): dace being a small freshwater fish; not much flavor, but pleasant mouthfeel, rustic, hand-made.Golden Seafood Roll (2.5): glorified fishcake, not too bad, perhaps as an anju.Steamed Pork & Coriander Dumplings (2.0): too much coriander, for me.Crispy Pork Pie with Cashew Nuts (1.5): don’t like pastry, don’t like cashews (in dishes).Braised Stuffed Whole Dried Scallop (1.5): the scallops were stuffed in radish rings; each component eaten alone was okay, but pretty crappy as a dish, none of the components getting on with the others.Pan-Fried Egg White with Dried Scallop (3.5)
The clear highlight of the meal was the Pan-Fried Egg White with Dried Scallop. Scrambled egg whites, firm. Topped with dried scallop, shredded. Lightly seasoned, subtle, delicate flavor. Surprisingly good. (The shrimp were more interesting, at least photographically.)
