Moksim Steak

The Prodigal Son Returns to Attend His Son’s Preschool Open House, Day 2 (see previously 6.250 Guksi).

Heukdon Yeonga is a Korean restaurant, located in Bukchang-Dong…
…specializing in BBQ, particularly pork, specifically from “black (heuk) pigs (don).”

Dinner with Number One Fan LY, the first time in over 2 years and 5 months (see most recently 4.104 Yusanseul Bap).

It’s been so long that her first question was, “What are you doing in Manila?”

We did see each other for a quick late-night drink in Seoul sometime last year — which got cut short because IZ suddenly began to vomit — but if an event doesn’t occur within the context of dinner, and the details aren’t recorded on the blog, then it may as well have never happened.

Banchan (2.25) — just the bare essentials, but competently done.
Unusual for Korean BBQ, the raw meat was served relatively thick, like steak, allowing for the development of a crust during the cooking.
Mul Naeng Myeon (1.5) — typical BBQ restaurant tangy broth rubbery noodle crap, but still good to have something refreshing to cut through the greasiness of the meat.

By the time we parted company, I was kinda drunk, but I seem to recall making a commitment to go on a Disney Cruise with the two families this winter.
