Kong Jjigae

One of my all-time favorite dishes (see generally 2.130 Kong Biji Jjigae…), the first time making it here in Manila (see recipe 3.166 Kong Biji Jjigae), though here and henceforth omitting “biji” — which applies only to the bean dregs (see for example 7.017 Kong Biji Jjigae) — from the description when the whole beans are involved.

With pickled chilies (see generally 3.255 Gochu Jangachi), a perfect accompaniment.

For the record, I didn’t make the meal to accommodate NS (see generally 5.320 How I Managed to Dine with a Vegan); I’d already cooked the stew then subsequently invited her over.
