Mingnan Five-Spice Marinated Pork Belly Wrapped in Dried Bean Curd Sheets
3.0
at Canton Road
(Shangri-La at the Fort)
-BGC, Taguig, Manila, Philippines-
with W and the Boyz, and the In-Laws
In-Laws are in town. Yay.
Generally, the food was good, though nothing in particular stood out. The dishes were more notable for the expert construction – like the pork wraps – and thoughtful plating, as well as the quality of ingredients. Given the very high prices, this would be a place for special guests (like in-laws), special occasions (like farewell dinner for in-laws).
Ming Dynasty Roasted Peking Duck (half) (3.25)
For the skin, perhaps the best that I’ve had in Manila yet.
Could do better on the crepes.
Fried douban marinated squid ring, mixed spiced chili powder (2.25)
French green beans sit-fry (3.5)
Birthday buns (W’s brithday … soon enough).
Steamed soft texture tofu, seared US scallop, crab roe (3.0)
