Bonga Jangsuchon (본가 장수촌) is a Korean restaurant chain. Currently 38 locations throughout the country. Specializes in baeksuk, both duck and chicken – specifically, the traditional free-range tojong dak.

To celebrate FIL’s birthday, we ate boiled chicken. It was okay. Whereas Koreans seem to appreciate the so-called “chewiness” of tojong dak, I find it a bit tough.
Old people in Korea tend to like boiled chicken, especially on special occasions – I’m wondering if it harks back to harder, leaner times, when boiled chicken was the best that they could hope for, and only then on special occasions.
