The third in an on-going series of experiments to make burgers comprised of frozen non-beef patties (see also 13.066 Chicken Burger; 13.070 Cheese Tonkatsu Burger), this time with fish katsu.
I had high expectations, but it turned out hit and miss. In lieu of lettuce, sauerkraut was included, pairing nicely with the tartare sauce to provide a zippy flavor profile. However, the cutlets came with bits of the skins still attached – common in packaged fish katsu products (see for comparison 13.026 Fish Katsu) – which gave a kinda fishy aftertaste, though in fairness it wasn’t really noticeable in the overall context of the burger. Oh well.
