Baeknyeon Sikdang (백년식당) is a Korean restaurant.  Offers only 4 dishes: dubu jjigae, jeyuk bokkeum, samgyeopsal, makguksu, as listed on the window next to the front door.  One of 4 restaurants in “downtown” Seowon.

Located 2.6 km from the cabin.

Our first choice for dinner was already closed – in the countryside, restaurants often close by 19:00, as locals (mostly farmers) tend to eat dinner very early – so we tried a place that we’d never been to, though we pass by it every time going to/from the cabin.

Surprisingly modern interior.

The food was decent.  The dubu jjigae, more of a jeongol (hotpot) than a stew (jjigae), was nowhere near as good as the dish at Iri Garden (see most recently 13.121 Dubu Jjim), but solid.  Overall, we had a nice meal.

Also in comparison to Iri Garden (see for example 13.121 Dubu Jjim), the spread of banchan were woefully lacking in variety, selection, and taste.
Then again, these fried eggs, seasoned with cucumber + sesame seeds + sesame oil, a bit crispy on the bottom, were very nice – and free! – fried eggs usually come at additional cost (see for example 13.117 Gyeran Hurai).
I should make this at home.
