Ugnsbakad Fiskfilé Italienask Tomatsås med Mozzarella & Örter is a frozen item by Swedish food producer Findus.  The name translates into English as “Baked (Ugnsbakad) Fishfillet (Fiskfilé) Italian (Italienask) Tomato Sauce (Tomatsås) with (med) Mozzarella & Seasonings (Örter).”  A recent acquisition from IKEA.

One of the strangest looking frozen products that I’ve encountered in recent memory.

As per the instructions, I placed it in the oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes, but it was still rawish, so I microwaved it for an additional 5 minutes.  In retrospect, I should’ve thawed it by microwave then broiled it to get some browning on the crust.

Maybe add pasta to make use of the remaining sauce, or bread.

It was okay.  The fish was white and flaky, though not much flavor.  The sauce was cheesy and creamy, though not really tomatoey.  Takes too long to qualify as a true “convenience” item, but could be useful with a few enhancements (e.g., fresh parsley, cracked black pepper, hot sauce) as a side dish in a bigger spread.
