Can’t recall if I’ve ever had cheese crust pizza, certainly not one of those things that I would try voluntarily.  Here, I just wanted a slice of simple cheese pizza, and it came with the cheese crust, which I figured I could toss if I didn’t like it.

As I started eating, I discovered the crust to be a very peculiar blackish/purplish/brownish color.   Perhaps made with dark beer, like at Burger King (see for comparison 12.079 Guinness Whopper)?  Don’t know why they would go to the extra trouble, as the crust didn’t seem to taste any different and just looked weird.

I kinda liked it.  At the very least, I wouldn’t have finished the crust if it hadn’t been stuffed with cheese.

I’m tagging this as “origin Italian,” but do Italians stuff their crusts?
