Can’t believe that 9 years have passed since this dish has been featured on GMTD (see most recently 7.151 Pan-Fried Halibut with Champignons à la Bordelaise in Cream Sauce) – surely, I’ve made it on occasion since then, but if not documented on the blog then it may as well have never happened.

Despite appearances, and its composition of iceberg lettuce + bottled Italian dressing, the salad was surprisingly good.

I’ve made variations that didn’t involve mushrooms, including broccolini (see for example 12.011 Broccolini à la Bordelaise), asparagus (11.117 Asperges Blanches à la Bordelaise), and cauliflower (11.080 Chou-Fleur à la Bordelaise).
