Heavy on the Hangjeong – The Final “Family” Meal

For DJ’s final dinner before flying off to college tomorrow, the final dinner together while he is still a full-on domiciled member of the family, he chose Cheonnyeon Galbi, our favorite neighborhood family restaurant.

Back in March, on the day that he was accepted to UCLA (before Cal would announce 6 days later), we ate at the restaurant – something of a thank-god-at-least-he-got-in-to-UCLA celebration (see generally 16.076 Galbisal).

The food has not changed in the slightest since our first visit 5 years ago (see generally 11.314 So Yangnyeom Galbi) – and that’s a really good thing.

Tonight, we went heavy on hangjeongsal, DJ’s favorite cut.

Out of curiosity, I Googled “what is hangjeongsal” to see if Gemini had some new insights – to my surprise, the attached image was the featured photo from the GMTD post first describing hangjeongsal (see 1.316 Hangjeongsal), though I don’t know if such searches return the same image for everybody, or it’s just the AI trying to flatter me.

The next post will be from Berkeley, California, USA.
