Preparations complete, the Fall WOW! (Welcome to Our Warehouse!) Family Sale is set to open tomorrow (see most recently 16.139 Maekom Butter Bokkeum Bap).
Damsook is a Korean restaurant. Specializes in soups, mostly beef. The photo of the property on Naver shows what appears to be a delivery joint, no dining hall. Located in Munjeong-dong.
By some accounts, spicy beef gukbap hails from Andong, the capital city of Gyeongsangbuk-do. I’m usually skeptical of specific origin attributions for Korean dishes, given the country’s relatively small size and homogenous culture, but who knows.
In any case, the Damsook gukbap is awesome. Even without hanwoo, it looks and tastes almost exactly like the ugeojitang (essentially a type of gukbap) from Gogi Nara (see for comparison 15.150 Ugeoji Tang – Takeout) – so happy we can now get this kind of thing without a trip to the cabin (DJ will be very pleased).
