W often gets really excited by some food product and buys it in bulk but then quickly grows tired of it and never touches it again.   Items typically comprise gimmicky meal kits or trendy snacks/drinks, or frozen ingredients gifted by her mother (along with instructions on how to prepare them: “Here!  Blend these tomatoes to make smoothies.  They’re healthy and delicious!” – as if that would ever happen in a billion years).   At some point, I’ll suggest to just dump it, or give it back to her mother, whereupon she’ll yell: “I’m gonna eat it!! Don’t you dare throw it out!”  But she won’t eat it, and eventually it’ll go bad, like to the point of mold, or get way beyond its expiration date.  I’ll say: “I thought you were gonna eat it.”  She’ll shrug and reply: “I forgot it was there.”

Cleaning the house in preparation for DJ triumphant return tomorrow, I threw out all the expired food that W had stockpiled over the past year.  She’ll never notice – or maybe she’ll see the empty fridge and decide to fill it with more shit.
