Smashed Dumpling Taco is an Chinese-American fusion dish.  The fillings of a traditional wonton (i.e., dumpling) are spread onto a flour tortilla, fried in a skillet (like a smashburger), folded in half (like a taco), and garnished.

The third in a recent string of dishes inspired by the Allrecipes channel on YouTube (see 15 Kitchen Hacks You Need to Know (Nicole’s Best Tips & Tricks!)).

Filling = minced pork + garlic + ginger + scallions + cilantro + soy sauce + oyster sauce + white pepper.

Vaguely recall making a similar smashburger taco a while back but can’t find any evidence thereof – probably had it for lunch and wasn’t impressed.

Garniture: cilantro + cucumber + large scallion (white) + small scallion (green) + white cabbage (not pictured) + hoisin sauce + sriracha sauce (not pictured).

I’m calling my version the Smashed Beijing Hundun Taco because of the garnishes, based in part on the toppings for Beijing Duck, and because “hundun” is what wontons are called in Mandarin.

Super quick and easy.

Meh.  Felt kinda dry, lacking the comforting unctuousness of a taco, or dumpling.  Much prefer the egg wrap (see for example 12.255 Peking-Style Shrimp Egg Wraps).
