In tonight’s bibimbap, the ingredients came from different sources, prepared at different times, some by me, some by our nanny, and some from the supermarket, which shows how the dish is often cobbled together with whatever’s on hand.

Clockwise from bottom: aehobak squash, mushrooms, carrots, spinach, gosari, broccoli, bujigaengi, plus an egg on top.
