This was the worst thing that I’ve ever tasted from my mother’s hand. A lasagna in form but weirdly mushy and flavorless. Even more peculiar than the food, she had called me the night before and announced that she had made lasagna, and then brought it over to our apartment this evening, all unusual because she hasn’t made lasagna in years and she never makes any such announcement about her own cooking and she hasn’t been to our apartment in months and she has never brought over food in the entire 4+ years that I’ve been married. Nevertheless, I must’ve been overjoyed to have mom’s home cooking, because I finished it all.
