Koreans eat ddeok guk on the morning of New Year’s Day – traditionally, by the lunar calendar, but these days most people seem to do it also by the solar calendar in a nod to modernity.
I had laid out the ingredients to make the soup for breakfast, but we all got up too late, and we had lunch plans with the In-Laws. So, we had it for dinner.
This was the 5th meal remaining in Cycle 1 of GMTD.
