Mutton Masala with Naan
3.0
at Himalayan
-Changjin, Jongro, Seoul, Republic of Korea-
with MtG, CBD
A most welcome trend in the Seoul restaurant scene these days is the affordable pricing of quality Indian food at various immigrant-owned/operated establishments around the Dongdaemun area. This would include Everest, my favorite, and Pooja , and now Himalayan, a worthy competitor.
As with the other restaurants, the dishes at Himalayan were priced at or below 10,000 won. Most of the curries, such as the mutton masala, were 8,000 won. The naan, at 2,000 won each, was the biggest that I’ve ever seen. They also offered various Nepalese dishes, which I hope to sample the next time around. I won’t say that the food was outstanding, but it was good enough for Plan B should the lines at Everest be too long.
