The same thing as yesterday, only with shrimp.
Obviously, I took the hassle-free approach to food on this trip. It was the first time ever that we had gone camping without friends, which turned out to be liberating in the sense that I didn’t have to worry about what to cook and when and how much and whether it tasted good.
As of yesterday, I quit trying to incorporate dictionary.com’s Word of the Day into each post, an exercise that I’ve been doing since September 9 (see 2.247 Pulmuone Haemul Doenjang Jjigae). Although I enjoyed the challenge as a writer, it was taking too much time coming up with things to write, which ordinarily I might not have written, just to provide some reasonably appropriate context for the word. Yesterday’s word, “weltschmerz,” would’ve prompted me to plunge yet again into self-reflection about my (perceived) cynical outlook on life, but doing so would’ve felt forced, disingenuous, a mendacity, to use today’s word.
