A mass gathering at the cabin, the guests comprising 8 families from DJ’s former daycare, including 14 adults, 12 kids, and 2 toddlers. It was something of a sequel to the gathering last year with the same people (that was a horror show brought on at my own insistence at a time when the passion/obsession for camping was so intense that I was willing to invite virtual strangers just to have a reason to bust out the gear and put the skills to work; a miserable, rainy, exhausting experience that effectively put out the flame overnight). I didn’t want to do it all over again, but one thing led to another, and there they all were.
In any event, everyone had a blast. Even before the day was over, they were already asking about the next one. I’m going to do everything in my power to prevent that from happening.
