Pulmuone has launched a series of items quick-fix banchan featuring tofu has the key ingredient.
One is the dubu seon, tofu cake. Two varieties: chicken breast or seafood. Cut into cubes, lightly pan-fried in oil, it was kinda bland, kinda crumbly, no resemblance to tofu, no real difference between the two varieties.
The other is the dubu bong, tofu sausage. Two varieties: regular or seafood. Sliced into rounds, lightly pan-fried in oil, it reminded me of the pink flour-based “sausages” popular over 20 years ago as a side dish in kids’ lunch boxes, sometimes found these days in restaurants/bars capitalizing on the nostalgia of those kids now grown up, no resemblance to tofu, no real difference between the two varieties.
Although I’m a loyal customer of many Pulmuone products, I can’t support this latest offering.
