We were summoned by my mother to the cabin to do some work; in exchange, she promised us a magnificent feast of galbi.  That presented a lose-lose scenario for me because I’d have to play groundskeeper all day and then pull KP in the evening by firing the coals and scouring the grill afterwards.

Fortunately, it rained, so we couldn’t get any work done.

Unfortunately, the rain didn’t affect the plans to grill the galbi.  Grilling in the rain is unpleasant, as are the prep and cleanup.  Thankfully, we’ve installed a roof over the entrance, which provided shelter.  I found a small grilling cylinder, the kind used in BBQ restaurants, which made the whole process easier by magnitudes.

In the end, the food was great.  Mom’s galbi, made with hanwoo, served with her signature chive salad, never fails.  I get some credit for cooking it.
