Byeongeo is butterfish aka dollarfish, skipjack. Vertical and flat, kinda funny looking. Silvery skin. White flesh, soft and flaky when cooked, nearly to the point of mushiness. Little flavor, either way. Not a very widely consumed fish here, except among enthusiasts. Only enthusiasts would pay the high prices, around 20,000 won each. Currently in season.
I just love it when I come home to find, much to my surprise, the MIL cooking dinner in my kitchen. Especially when the main dish features something like butterfish
