Seoul Forest is a public park.  It’s located in Seongsu-Dong, about a 2-min-drive/20-min-walk from our home in Oksu-Dong.  Respectable size for a park right in the middle of the city, maybe a little more than a square kilometer, it comprises sprawling grass fields, a pond, playgrounds, sports facilities (e.g., soccer pitches, tennis/basketball courts), bicycle rentals, bird and insect observatories, deer zoo, restaurants, coffee shops, and more.  Weekends, the grounds are packed with families, mostly just picnicking and/or hanging out.

School Food Blooming Mari has a branch in Seoul Forest (see also 4.091 Special Mari I + II).

As with my prior experience, the food was more impressive in appearance, and perhaps in concept, than actual execution.  We ordered two rolls: Shrimp Mari = deep-fried shrimp + rice wrapped in laver with mayo dipping sauce, Spam Mari I = Spam + rice wrapped in laver + mozzarella cheese + egg.  Both would’ve been better with the signature spicy radish pickle, but we requested it withheld because of IZ, which rendered the rolls rather bland.
