Our division is holding the annual network meeting at the regional office, including staff from country offices, Monday through Wednesday.

So long as everyone is here, the tobacco unit will convene an overlapping meeting, including tobacco focal points from ministries of health, Wednesday through Friday.

As per tradition, the team orders pizza for dinner the evening before a meeting, staying late to make final preparations.

Whereas pizza isn’t inherently unhealthy, restaurants often add too much salt, sugar, and chemical flavor enhancers to the crust, sauce, and toppings, which often consist of fatty meats; if that weren’t enough, the side dishes are even worse, such as chicken wings dipped in ranch dressing and potato skins loaded with bacon.

Reminds me with warm and grateful fondness of the pizza that we ate on the eve of the consultation that had initially brought me to work here (see generally 5.093 Anchovy Lovers Pizza).

The post was largely about saltiness — funny coincidence, in light of yesterday’s spiel about unhealthy diet.

That was also the first time that I’d tried Yellow Cab, now my favorite local pizza chain (see most recently 6.203 Chicken Corona Salsa Pizza).

This is the original version of the Dear Darla (see for comparison 6.176 Ricotta Cheese and Roasted Garlic…).
