The Prodigal Son Returns for Xmas, Day 4 (see previously 6.347 Amaebi Avocado Maki).

In Seoul.  Here through Christmas.  Going back on the 26th with the family to Manila, where we’ll finish out the year.

The Chizza is a new item by KFC.  Fried chicken breast, topped with fake ham, bittersweet BBQ sauce, processed cheese, minced raw onions, other random crap = chi(cken) + pi(zza).  Essentially chicken parmesan with a few modifications, the concept per se is neither revolutionary nor revolting.  But the poor execution made for yuck — the kind of fastfood abomination that Koreans seem to adore (see for example 4.275 Mr K + Quattro Smoky Whopper).

After seeing this in the July issue of TIME, I’d been looking forward to trying the item — if only out of perverse curiosity —but never came across it in Manila (not that I go to KFC here very often).

  1. Huh. Similar to a Domino’s product…they dubbed their new hybrid “specialty chicken,” and it was essentially twelve chicken prices arranged in a two by six underneath a slew of pizza toppings.

    1. like i said, this isn’t really anything new. it could be okay if properly executed.

wouldn’t it be great if pizza places just concentrated on making better pizza???
