Double-sided electric broiler by Sanyo. Place an item on the grill, turn the dial to set the time, close the lid … DING! Cooks perfectly, every time.
The machine’s been in the family for nearly two decades, originally belonging to my mother, until I took it with me when I got married.
Finally managed to lug the thing over from Korea on my recent trip.
The mackerel (godeungeo) was about as good as it gets. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned.
