At long last, the time has come.  Arrived in Seoul last Saturday morning.  Here for a week to pack up and ship our stuff to the Philippines, where we’ll be reunited to live as a family after 2.5 years.  Flying back together to Manila this coming Saturday.

This has always been our favorite seat in the house (see for example 5.003 Jaengban Ban).

With the Wife and DJ both otherwise engaged for dinner, it was just me and the not-so-little-anymore one.

As noted during a series of posts on this dish during my prior visit to Seoul a couple weeks ago, this kind of mul naengmyeon — the original from Pyeongyang, now available only in a handful of restaurants in and around Seoul (not in Pyeongyang anymore (see generally 4.261 Pyongyang (Mul) Naeng Myeon) — the best rendition of the dish, in the world, served at this restaurant, confirmed to incontrovertible certainty (but see 4.184 Seoul-Searching for Pyongyang-Style Perfection) — is what I will miss most when we move to Manila.  I’ve attained such a pure affinity to the MNM here that I prefer it with just the noodles and the broth (as the main photo above).

These northern-style mandu, as well.

As if it were our last meal on earth, which it kinda was, given the importance of MNM in our family.
