What this for your birthday? This was pretty much exactly what I ate on my birthday every year growing up…
that’d be kinda sad if I’d made this for myself, and ate it alone, for dinner, at home, on a Saturday, on my birthday (which isn’t until December) (incidentally, you may recall that I mentioned — in a comment thread concerning celebrity chefs — the possibility of eating at Pierre Gagnaire in December; I was referring to my upcoming birthday).
