Mission to Korea + Fall Vacation, Day 5.

In Seoul.  Here, initially, to coordinate the Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting for National Ethics/Bioethics Committees (AP-NEC), which WHO co-organized in collaboration with the National Bioethics Committee of Korea (KNBC), from Tuesday to Wednesday.  Then, the rest of this week and all of the next on an extended holiday with the family.

My raclette spreads tend to be less busy (see for comparison 7.136 Raclette), and I certainly wouldn’t serve kimchi.

Dr J is a professor at Ajou University, where I used to teach.  She introduced me to her husband, Dr S, a professor at Yonsei University, who does a lot of WHO-related work for the Korean government.  He got me involved in some of those projects – the first one in 2005, during the intergovernmental working group negotiations to revise the International Health Regulations – which eventually led to me working for WHO as staff.
