Samgyupsalamat is a Korean BBQ restaurant chain.  Founded in the Philippines under Korean ownership.  Currently 7 locations, with plans for another 15 by the end of the year.  5 kinds of pork – mostly variations on pork belly – for 449 pesos per person, or 10 kinds of pork and beef for 499 pesos – in unlimited quantity, plus side dishes, rice, soup.

The name of the business is a cute play on words, combining “samgyupsal” (pork belly) + “salamat” (thank you).

By 5pm, a long line had already formed, but our advance team had snagged a table and initiated the service.

RK and I were the only Koreans in the joint.

The food was good.  Not the greatest meat, not the greatest sides, not the greatest set-up, but decent.  Reminded me of similar cheap all-you-can-eat restaurants near college campuses in Korea, catering to hungry students.  Totally legit.
