Red Sea Dive Center
-South Beach, Aqaba, Jordan-
Mission to Jordan, Day 5 (see previously 9.264 Lots of Chicken, Loads of Rice) – personal deviation.
In Aqaba. Previously in Amman to attend a Meeting of the Regional Parliamentary Working Group on Universal Health Coverage in the Eastern Mediterranean Region – Tue to Wed. Staying on in country for a couple extra days to dive in the Red Sea.
Staying at and diving thru Arab Divers.
The diving was awesome. Having grown used to diving in the Philippines, I was struck by the different topography, different structures, different colors. And the wrecks – not historical, recently scuttled just to give tourists something to look at, but still very cool.
Interestingly, the desert air was so hot and arid that gear would dry to a clean crisp in between dives.
Jordan is the 5th country and the Red Sea is the 6th body of water where I’ve enjoyed the privilege of diving.
- Philippines, Balayan Bay (Anilao) (see 9.042 Garlic Squid + Buttered Vegetables); Batangas Bay (Puerto Galera) (see 9.115 Budae Jjigae)
- Fiji, Nadi Bay (Nadi) (see most recently 6.104 Seared Mahi Mahi)
- Maldives, Arabian Sea (Male) (see most recently 9.190 Grilled Snapper)
- Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park (Kota Kinabalu) (9.248 Homemade Chicken Curry)
- Jordan, Red Sea (Aqaba)
