Mission to Fiji, Day 2.

In Nadi.  Here to conduct a series of planning meetings and ocular inspections – Friday and Saturday in Nadi, Monday and Tuesday in Suva, Thursday in Nadi again – in preparation for the Fifth Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health, which will be held in Fiji in August 2019.  This is the third such mission in advance of the Fifth Meeting (see previously 10.049 Termite Mushroom Steamed Halibut).

To be extra sure in my recommendation, I stayed overnight – “…you know, to try it out.”

One critical objective of the mission is to secure a venue for the Fifth Meeting.  Always a challenge in striking the right balance between respectfully elegant, as befitting our parliamentarian guests, and modestly dignified, as befitting a meeting hosted by WHO.

Subject to official approval, the Pullman is looking to be a strong contender.

Having soft-launched just last week, the property would appear to be fully operation, though still working on some of the finer points, like menus.

“Swordfish” turned out to be swordfish and chips.  Odd choice to use such a big fish.  The meat was interestingly chewy, but a bit dry.
