Lo and behold, our favorite Italian restaurant in the Philippines – the original location in BGC – just so happens to have a second branch in Makati, just outside the gates of our village.  A bit icky that it’s in a strip mall attached to a gas station – I’m not entirely confident that the restaurant’s water supply is safe from petroleum contamination – but I’m willing to take the risk.

On the corner of EDSA and Pasay Road.

Fewer options on the menu, but a little bit of everything, more than enough.

Similar casual vibe.

Happy to report that the quality of food appears consistently top notch.

The bruschetta was excellent: well-balanced/contrasting flavors and textures in the salami and mushroom, pecorino and ricotta cheeses, with slices of crispy/soft toasted bread.

Pappardelle (3.0): Rosso Puglia braised lamb shank, Italian sausage, tomatoes – lamb was a bit gamy, and the pasta was too wide/heavy for my tastes, but still good.
