Pork Tacos

3.5

at Taco Minor

-Seongsu, Seongdong, Seoul, Republic of Korea-

with JHL

Taco Minor is a Tex-Mex restaurant.  Serves tacos and burritos.  (On my next visit, I will try to get more background from the owner/chef.)

In the distance, E-Mart headquarters and the flagship store.
Empty at 1130, the place will soon be packed.

I was very happy to have lunch with JHL, who was my final intern at WHO (in fact, he outlasted me), my last WPRO Dive Club protégé (more important).  After coming back to Korea for a brief well-deserved rest, he is off again, this time on a project in Timor-Leste (not with WHO).  I will forever be indebted to him for picking up our dog Louis from quarantine at Incheon International Airport, while we were still in quarantine at the cabin.  Not sure if I’ll ever be able to repay the favor, but in the meantime I gave him a pile of books that he can read and my BCD that he can use while in Timor-Leste.  I look forward to seeing him upon his safe return (whenever that may be).

I look forward to Trying Every Item at Taco Minor.

The pork taco was excellent.  The tortillas, which appeared to be homemade, were thick and rough and juicy and nutty.  The pork bits were tender and tasty.  Just the right amount of cheese and salsa on top.  The salsa verde on the side was fresh and refreshing.  Possibly the best taco that I’ve had in Korea, certainly the best lunch venue near work thus far.
