Nobody was much in the mood for eating at dinnertime. Nearing midnight, we started to get a bit hungry. The unanimous choice was ramyeon.
After many years of trying out different brands of ramyeon, we decided to settle exclusively with Neoguri, which has always been the only brand that we are satisfied with.W seemed amazed at my confidence in cooking 4 packages in 1 pot – “How do you know how much water to use?” – our water dispenser provides preset amounts: 550 ml x 4 = 2200 ml – “Oh!”“Neoguri” means “raccoon” – I’ve never bothered to investigate why they chose the name (no, raccoons don’t signify anything special in Korean culture, as far as I’m aware).Korean style, including rice cakes and eggs, served with kimchi.I wonder if other cultures also eat rice with the leftover soup.
