Wondering whether Swedish meatballs make the dish Swedish, even if it’s traditionally an Italian-American dish. I’m inclined to say no, even though IKEA meatballs are so famously Swedish, but they don’t seem to taste any different than Italian or American meatballs. For me, köttbullar is Swedish by way of the gravy and jam.

Those are interesting comments about the difference between American-Italian vs Swedish meatballs… There was actually a commercial from SAS (the pan-Scandinavian airline) a while ago that for some reason tried to drive home the thesis that there’s NOTHING truly Scandinavian.. One of their “facts” was that Swedish meatballs were actually from Turkey (which is highly debatable, if not completely bullshit…). Doing another search for it on Youtube, I’m surprised it’s up again on SAS’s official account (since they took it down due to the backlash…).
I noticed a lot of norwegian flags and gay people kissing.
