With ingredients brought home from yesterday’s trip to the Cabin, mostly cans nearing (or just barely beyond) their dates of expiration (they’re merely guidelines, right?), including Hormel Chili, Heinz Beanz, Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn, plus Granora Spirali Fantasia (multi-colored fusilli pasta).  The kicker was American processed cheese, which melted into the sauce and brought everything together – a trick that I picked up from Chef J Kenji López-Alt, who adds it to certain dishes to enhance creaminess, not necessarily as cheese per se.
