Spaghetti Pescatore with Mini Mozza Balls

Free-styled the dish using a mix of fresh + canned tomatoes, with shrimp + squid + clams, plus a big dollop of sambal olek.  Reminded me of the spicy soupy pasta dish known misnomerically in Korea as “Pesce” (see for example 12.173 Pesce).

Trying shelled clams for the first time, they’re certainly more convenient (I don’t like the hassle/mess of removing clam shells out of the dish while at the table), but clearly less fresh (even though shelled in the morning) and less fragrant (no juice).

The mozzarella balls were initially intended to be made into a salad, but I got lazy at the last minute and just tossed them on top of the pasta – despite the supposed Italian prohibition on combining seafood and cheese.  It was fine.
