Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce

Ironically, making cooked tomato sauce is quicker (as here) than raw tomato sauce (see most recently 13.173 Grilled Cheese with Spaghetti Pomodoro Crudo).  Whereas the former can be whipped up in the time it takes to boil the pasta, the latter takes at least a couple hours to marinate, ideally overnight.
