In Korea, leftover buffet food at private events shamefully goes to waste because: first, venues generally don’t allow leftovers to be taken home, even though it’s all paid for and won’t carry over to the next event; and second, food sanitation regulations require restaurant leftovers to be discarded after their intended purpose, so it can’t be taken home by staff or donated to shelters.
At the conclusion of the buffet lunch yesterday (see 13.304 Pimpinella Brachycarpa Pasta), as we were on our way out, I noticed a long bread roll left unfinished. Rather than let it go to waste, I swiped it, which I consider to be a morally righteous act.

IZ had recently watched something on the internet featuring a Philly Cheesesteak, so he asked that I make him one. Don’t recall ever having made a steak & cheese sandwich, and I might’ve only had a few in my life (see for example 7.034 North Philly Sausage Cheesesteak on a Pretzel Roll), but I improvised a respectable rendition comprising shaved beef + American cheese + onions + bell peppers, topped with pickled jalapeños + lettuce.
