After my first try at this dish, I’d proclaimed it “an instant classic” and predicted that it would become “a regular part of the rotation” (see 12.080 Penna alla Vodka), but never made it again – I suspect that it got lost in the dreary chaos of the pandemic.

Which is curious, though, because I drink vodka regularly (daily) these days, so it’s always on hand – back in 2021, I’d purchased the vodka for the purpose of making the dish.

Barton Vodka: made in Kentucky!

In my descent to the depths of alcoholism, I thought that I’d hit rock bottom with Gilbey’s Vodka (see 13.030 The Misik Ramyeon (Spicy)) – at 10,000 won per bottle, the cheapest hard liquor that I’d ever encountered in Korea.  But then, along comes Barton Vodka, now available at our local supermarket for 0nly 7,000 won per bottle.  What’s really scares me is that I like how it tastes, better than Gilbey’s or even more expensive labels.
