When I was a latchkey kid growing up in California and feeding myself after school, the tortizza was a common snack – though we called it a “Mexican pizza.” Just a flour tortilla topped with grated “Mexican-blend” cheese (always on hand for tacos), zapped in the microwave for 30 seconds. Never really liked it, but enjoyment wasn’t the point.
