Chilidogs (+ Chili Macaroni)

Take two on the so-called “American-style beef hot dogs” from the other day (see 15.259 Beef “Hot Dogs” with Sauerkraut). This time in a bun – i.e., as an actual “hotdog” – topped with beef chili – i.e., thus a “chilidog.”

As hoped, the bread and toppings – especially the homemade chili, improvised with ground beef + tomato paste + hot sauce + cumin etc – made up for the shortcomings in the frank itself, which is not as beefy/salty as it should be.
Still on the fence as to whether I should keep them in stock.

The chili worked just as well with the pasta.
