The gift that keeps on giving: first, the initial clam hotpot (see 16.077 Jogae Jeongol), then noodles in the leftover broth (see 16.079 Kalguksu with Shrimp & Dubu in Clam Broth), now soup in the secondary leftover broth plus scallops that had come with the original order.
As the boys are on spring beak this week, the plan had been to take trip to the east coast this weekend, but we couldn’t agree on what to do about Louis Le Pieux, and we’re still not quite back to normal post spat, so I just decided to stay behind. Hence the sad solo dinner of rice and soup in front of the TV – can’t recall the last time feeling so much at peace.
In more important news, today was the so-called “Ivy Day,” when the Ivy League universities announced their decisions for undergraduate admissions this fall; UC Berkeley (Cal) also announced today. DJ started with Cal and opened the email to find that he had been accepted! Alas, he was rejected from all the rest, including Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, and Yale. While thrilled with Cal, we were all a bit bummed, perhaps even confused, that he didn’t get into a single Ivy. Oh well.
Tomorrow will be the final school: Stanford.
And then, DJ will have to decide.
