Usually not a fan of my own Korean food, but I impressed myself with this soup.  The fresh clams provided an endless depth of briny flavor to the broth, pairing perfectly with the nuttiness of the bean sprouts and bittersweetness of the green cabbage.  Perhaps the best guk that I’ve ever made.

Off to the Philippines tomorrow!

After dinner, I suddenly remembered that I’d forgotten to eat jjambbong, as per my morbid pre-flight ritual (see most recently 15.172 The Korean-Chinese Quaternity).
