with DJ and IZ
Following yesterday’s recon mission (see generally 16.167 Mul Naeng Myeon), I came back today with DJ (and IZ) to buy the watch.
But first, lunch.

Ding Dim 1968 is a Cantonese-Chinese restaurant. Specializes in dimsum. Founded 1968 in Hong Kong, with 3 locations in Korea.
Something about the name looked/sounded familiar, as if I’d eaten there before. However, a search of the name on GMTD revealed nothing. Then, scouring prior posts on dimsum, I found a post on xiaolongbao that I’d tried at a restaurant called Midim a few years back – curiously, the featured photo shows the serving plate with the Ding Dim 1968 logo (see 12.119 Xiaolongbao).

With 6 orders of dimsum + 2 orders of noodle soup, the bill came out to 68,000. The same order of comparable items at Mongjungheon would’ve cost nearly double at 124,000 (see most recently 16.162 凤城鲜肉饺) – albeit better quality, but not twice as good. I’ll take the lesser quality yet more reasonably priced Ding Dim 1968 any day.

The rest of the day was dedicated to DJ and his shopping needs. After Lotte, we went to Starfield Wirye so he could stock up on t-shirts, socks, underwear, etc, in advance of going off to college next week.

On 2 consecutive days, I’ve discovered 2 restaurants in the same building where I’d be happy to eat at any time.
