A few weeks back, I’d lamented the poor quality of tortillas by Ottogi (see generally 16.249 Break Up Burrito).

This time, I went with Spanish producer Deli Sun’s “wraps” (not “tortillas,” probably because tortillas are something entirely different in Spain).  The supermarket had 2 options: small flour (e.g., for tacos) and large wheat (e.g., for burritos).  Didn’t think twice in choosing the latter, vaguely remembering positive experiences with wheat tortillas in the past (see for example 4.350 (Better) Burritos).

But no, these were terrible.  Despite undergoing a steam before wrapping, the tortillas remained stiff with a crumbly texture and mealy flavor.  So we opened up the burritos and just ate the stuffing, which was fine but unfulfilling as an actual meal.

Combing through past posts featuring whole wheat burritos, I see that I’d been using Mexican-style “burrito size” wheat tortillas from American producer Mi Rancho (see generally 4.347 Whole Wheat Burritos).
