While proper American-style all-beef frankfurters are not readily available in Korea (see for comparison 15.259 Beef “Hot Dogs” with Sauerkraut), the cheaper chicken/pork franks can be found in supermarkets. As far as I’m aware, Koreans don’t eat them as hotdogs with buns but rather slice them up as a component of budae jjigae.

DJ, on his way out to meet with his friends for drinks in the city, looked at his watched and suddenly asked if I could make something quick for dinner, in under 20 minutes, so he could eat and still catch the bus.
I cranked out a fully realized budae jjigae within 8 minutes, entirely from scratch, giving him 12 minutes to scarf it down – rarely impressed with myself, but this was one of those occasions.
